When the WWF pulled the development deal from MCW, and sent most of those talents to HWA and OVW, did you think Memphis Championship Wrestling could have stayed alive in any form or fashion? I wish it could've because they did have some talented local guys like Bitty Little, Fabulous Rocker, and the guys who WWF dropped around that time in Joey Abs and Steve Bradley could work a bit.
Do you think it could have been salvaged without the WWF development talent?

Terry Golden, himself never had a chance once MCW lost there developmental deal and it was given to Les Thatcher in Cinn. Ohio. They actually ran a show in Dyersburg, TN at the Fairgrounds and something happened where the ring has to be taken down and the show was canceled. I don't know what actually happened on that particular show. Terry, wasen't actually drawing that well on the MCW house shows, the only time he actually drew when WWF/WWE would send some big name in. There Jackson, TN shows drew real well, & Corinth Miss ( Crossroads Arana ) also did well but as far as the other shows they never actually did well.
MCW actually ran a few shows after MCW lost there developmental deal but it was ran by Kelly Warner, ( who formerly ran LAW-Lethal Attitude Wrestling in Dyersburg, TN ) not Terry Golden,
Terry Golden, is now working for a limo service last I knew.
I actually liked KAW alot better because they would just use the regular talent with no huge names coming in. But as far as talent wise MCW was better with the younger talent.

I've heard that Golden was given some WWF rings to used when he had the developmental contract, and he was selling them off actually to other promoters. Maybe that's part of the reason the WWF had so much heat towards him.
Yeah, I wish I'd have went to the Oman Arena the time they brought Beniot and Angle. Just an hour drive, but if memory serves me correct I was flat broke.

I was actually there in Jackson, TN at the Oman Arena ( Angle -vs- Benoit ) I was there to cover the show. So I was running from the dressing room to the ring.

I can vouch for the shows in Oxford MS as I was at every show in Oxford at the Billiards club and they had one show on the hotttest day of the year in the day. I have done a good portion of all the results from Oxford. There was another guy who did the results a couple of times.
The shows at the Billiards club were way better than the shows that they had on UPN 30. They were more adult oriented. The shows lasted from May to December and ended about when the Billiards club was sold to new owners. The new owner was a ring announcer for one night.
