The fondest memories I have of Power Pro Wrestling are the house shows I attended and getting to meet some of the future stars of professional wrestling, as well as many of the legends along the way. Quite a few of the talents in PPW were just good people to talk to. I miss PPW a lot.
Going to PPW cards, I was fortunate enough to meet Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, Dave Brown, Erin O' Grady (Crash Holly for those who don't know), Brandon Baxter, Shawn Stasiak, Phil Hickerson, Guy Coffey, Buddy Wayne, Kid Wikkid, and the list goes on and on.
I always enjoyed going to Power Pro cards myself, and went to nearly every one that was nearby.
What are your memories of PPW?

The three house shows I went too...one was a joint PPW/MCW event...I saw
HHH Angle Victoria The Kat Spanky American Dragon
At another house show...
Kid Wikkid Mick Tierney Vic Grimes Erin O'Grady Shawn Stasiak Nicole Bass Kurt Angle Jerry Lawler Bill Dundee Baldo (A-Train) Derrick King Mark Henry
And plenty others I cannot remember at this time.
At that same house show, Randy Hales and Brandon Baxter had a street fight...BB used my chair on Randy...twas kickass.

My fondest moment would have to be when Randy Hales, didn't like me from day one and one day he was in a piss poor mood and told me to get out of his dressing room ( when I worked for the mag )
I just set there and he said get out, so I got left and when two buddies of mine Mic Tierney, & Glenn Kulka, arrived at the studio I was back in the dressing room again.
Another moment that sticks out is when Jim Cornette ask me as soon as I got there and was in the back about doing a skit on the PPW tv. I said sure.
I owe alot of my success to Downtown Bruno, Brandon Baxter, and all the guys for helping me out when I got started out.

He seemed very stuck up and snobby. He seemed very irritated that the guys took a few minutes to talk w/ fans. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but I've heard he is usually an ass. Mark

Randy, was pretty cool with me as far as being in his dressing room except just that one day ( I thought until he got his developmental deal for the second time ( when he begin to work with Terry Golden's MCW) I skipped a few weeks as I was on the road with other shows and when I came back and the following week Hales, got his second developmental deal back he told Brandon Baxter, to tell me that he ( Hales) didn't want me in his dressing room and that was fine because I had other shows booked up to go shoot for. The principal of it was Hales, couldn't tell me himself he had Baxter, tell me and from those few months while PPW was still in business I never stepped a foot on wmct-tv5 studios premises ever again as I stayed booked up completely as I actually squeezed PPW in from the get go as I never really had the time to cover them once I got other shows booked up to cover that's why I only had to only go and cover PPW once a month maybe twice a month if I had a open up. I can say the best promotions I covered and was real professional on everything as far as taking care of me was Terry Golden ( MCW ), Dusty Rhodes ( TCW), Bert Prentice ( USA ), Jim Princeton ( Bo ) WOWF, Danny McClain, Koonta ( Marvin Galloway), Max Pain( Charles Macallister) with NWA Mississippi, and several others I know I am leaving off this list, also a few legend shows as well. I ran into a few pain in the rear but I never had time for those people after they felt like they wanted to be a pain. ;D George gwren103@aol.com

Once upon a time, the other Memphis wrestling mailing list had a meeting where all members were invited to show up to the TV5 studios to meet and greet one another and the wrestlers. Randy Hales bought everyone pizza after the show and it was very entertaining. We got to mingle with RH, Brandon Baxter, Ali, Tracy Smothers, Alan Steele, Derrick King, and others. Not bad. This led to other meetings as well which were always great.

I met Randy Hales once when I was working at Radio Shack in Jonesboro. He came in looking at computers and I recognized the face but didn't remember the name. I spoke to him and he seemed pleasant enough but certainly not outgoing by any means.

Randy was a very reserved humble guy, when I spoke to him, even when he was working as the bad guy promoter.
And heck, I was only about 16 then, but I was tickled to death that he was trying to run a successful Memphis promotion.
And remember, PPW never got taken off due to ratings. WMC-TV had to redo the studio is the story I've always gotten.
