Jim is working for OVW as an announcer and booker, and is still quick with the wit. ;D Yeah, I wrote OVW a year ago or so, wanting some info on getting their DVD's/Videos, and ole Corny personally responded with a nice note and autographed pic, a lot more than I expected. Anyways, I went out and bought a SMW DVD and "Future Stars" OVW DVD, which both feature Cornette. The SMW one has the best promos, with Cornette running off at The Thrillseekers and then getting a cake in his face for his troubles. Good stuff. |

It's great to hear that Cornette is still in the biz and doing well. I remember the days of going to Saturday morning wrestling. When I watch those tapes, I can STILL hear myself over the top of everyone else. The day he made the comment about the fried chicken was the same day they pretended they were there to support Lawler, then turned on him. Everyone was so shocked, they were silent...until they piledrove Lawler on the studio floor and you can hear me, the ONLY one, laughing insanely. I got a little nostalgic last night after coming across this board...I had to go home and watch some tapes!  |
